The Drill Inspector is responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring the integrity, safety, and compliance of drilling equipment, tubulars, and associated tools used in drilling operations. The role ensures all drilling components meet company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements in Brunei Darussalam.
1. Inspection & Quality Assurance
• Conduct inspection of drill pipes, drill collars, BHA components, casing, tubing, and other drilling tools.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections.
• Verify compliance with API, DS-1, and company standards.
• Monitor equipment condition and identify defects, wear, corrosion, cracks, or mechanical damage.
• Ensure inspection procedures are strictly followed.
2. Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
• Update inspection logs, certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Submit daily and weekly progress reports to supervisors or clients.
• Ensure traceability of inspected equipment.
3. Compliance & Safety
• Ensure all inspection activities comply with Brunei Oil & Gas HSE regulations.
• Adhere to company safety policies and Permit-to-Work systems.
• Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Report unsafe conditions or non-conformance immediately.
4. Coordination & Support
• Liaise with drilling supervisors, rig personnel, and third-party inspectors.
• Support audit processes and client verification activities.
• Assist in equipment acceptance and rejection decisions.
