Job Description

- Perform welding works using approved welding processes such as:
SMAW (Stick Welding)
GTAW / TIG
GMAW / MIG
FCAW
- Carry out welding on:
Piping systems
Structural steel
Pressure vessels
- Mechanical equipment
Read and interpret:
Isometric drawings
Welding symbols
Fabrication drawings
P&IDs
WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications)
- Prepare materials and joints prior to welding activities.
- Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, and weld quality before and after welding.
- Perform grinding, cutting, gouging, and weld finishing activities when required.
- Inspect welds visually and rectify welding defects if necessary.
- Coordinate with fitters, riggers, QA/QC inspectors, and supervisors during fabrication and installation works.
- Ensure welding equipment and tools are maintained properly.
- Follow all HSE requirements including:
Hot work procedures
PTW systems
Fire prevention measures
PPE requirements
- Maintain good housekeeping at work areas.
- Support shutdown, turnaround, maintenance, and construction activities.
