Job Description

- Supervise daily welding and fabrication activities for piping, structural, and mechanical works.
- Lead welders, fitters, and fabrication crews to ensure work is completed according to schedule and quality requirements.
- Ensure all welding activities comply with:
WPS (Welding Procedure Specification)
PQR (Procedure Qualification Record)
Applicable codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API)
Project specifications
- Review and interpret:
Isometric drawings
Fabrication drawings
Welding symbols
P&IDs
Weld maps
- Monitor welding processes including:
SMAW
GTAW/TIG
FCAW
GMAW/MIG
- Ensure proper material handling, fit-up, alignment, and weld preparation before welding activities.
- Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors for weld inspections and NDT activities.
- Identify and resolve welding defects and fabrication issues.
- Monitor welder qualifications and ensure only approved welders perform assigned weld procedures.
- Ensure welding consumables are properly stored and controlled.
- Conduct toolbox talks and enforce HSE requirements including hot work procedures and PTW compliance.
- Coordinate with piping, structural, mechanical, rigging, and scaffolding teams during work execution.
- Monitor productivity, manpower allocation, and work progress.
- Prepare daily reports, weld tracking updates, and fabrication progress reports.
- Ensure good housekeeping and safe work environment at site or workshop.
