Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Reliability Specialist to provide reliability engineering support for operations and maintenance activities within an Ammonia & Urea Complex. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying equipment and process reliability issues, conducting failure investigations, developing improvement strategies, and supporting reliability-centred maintenance initiatives.

The Reliability Specialist will work closely with engineering, maintenance and operations teams to improve asset reliability, availability and overall plant performance. The role will also involve the use of GE APM (Asset Performance Management) software for reliability and asset performance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures, operational issues and recurring plant problems.
- Lead and facilitate Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) studies for critical plant equipment and systems.
- Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and identify potential failure mechanisms and their consequences.
- Identify bad actors, recurring failures and reliability improvement opportunities.
- Analyse equipment failure trends, maintenance history and asset performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Utilise GE APM (Asset Performance Management) software to support reliability, asset performance and maintenance strategies.
- Develop and recommend appropriate preventive and predictive maintenance strategies based on equipment criticality and failure modes.
- Review existing maintenance strategies and recommend optimisation where required.
- Support the identification and implementation of reliability improvement initiatives to increase equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Conduct equipment criticality assessments and reliability assessments.
- Provide technical recommendations to operations and maintenance teams regarding recurring equipment failures and reliability concerns.
- Prepare technical reports, RCA reports, RCM study reports and reliability improvement recommendations.
- Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions for client personnel in areas including:
Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Bad Actor Management
Reliability improvement methodologies
Other relevant reliability engineering practices
- Work collaboratively with Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Operations and Maintenance personnel.
- Participate in meetings, workshops and technical discussions with the client as required.
- Ensure all reliability activities are carried out in accordance with applicable company procedures, standards and HSE requirements.
- Perform other reliability engineering duties as assigned by the client.

Other Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Reliability Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with up to 20+ years of experience in reliability engineering and asset management.
- Demonstrated experience working within an Ammonia & Urea Complex, petrochemical plant, chemical plant or similar process industry environment.
- Must hold Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification.
- Strong practical experience in Reliability Engineering and Asset Performance Management.
- Hands-on experience with GE APM software is required/preferred.
- Proven experience in conducting:
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM)
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Bad Actor Analysis/Management
- Reliability improvement studies
- Strong understanding of equipment reliability, maintenance strategies and failure mechanisms.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance teams.
