The HSE Consultant (Freelancer) is responsible for providing independent Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) consultancy services to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, client requirements, industry standards, and company HSE policies. The role involves conducting HSE assessments, providing professional advice, monitoring workplace practices, and supporting the implementation of effective HSE management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional HSE consultancy and advisory services to clients across project and operational activities.
- Develop, review, and implement HSE policies, procedures, plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Conduct workplace inspections, HSE audits, risk assessments, and compliance assessments.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor compliance with applicable HSE legislation, regulatory requirements, client standards, and industry best practices.
- Support incident, accident, near-miss, and environmental investigations, including preparation of investigation reports.
- Provide guidance on safe work practices, emergency preparedness, and hazard control measures.
- Conduct or facilitate HSE inductions, toolbox talks, awareness programmes, and other safety training.
- Review contractor and subcontractor HSE performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assist clients in preparing HSE documentation, reports, registers, and performance statistics.
- Monitor and report HSE performance, including leading and lagging indicators.
- Support emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness activities.
- Advise on environmental management, waste management, pollution prevention, and other environmental compliance matters.
- Keep up to date with changes in HSE legislation, regulations, standards, and industry practices.
- Prepare professional HSE reports and present findings and recommendations to management or clients.
- Carry out other HSE-related consultancy assignments as required.
