Job Description
- Operate and monitor drilling equipment and drilling control systems.
- Supervise drilling crew members including:
Assistant Drillers
Derrickmen
Floormen
Roustabouts
- Monitor drilling parameters such as:
Weight on bit
Torque
Pump pressure
Mud circulation
Rate of penetration
Well control indicators
- Conduct drilling, tripping, casing, and cementing operations safely.
- Respond to well control situations and operational emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with drilling procedures and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with:
Toolpusher
Mud Engineers
Mechanics
Electricians
Client representatives
- Conduct toolbox talks and shift handovers.
- Maintain drilling reports, operational logs, and equipment records.
- Ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping of drilling equipment and rig floor areas.
- Participate in emergency drills and HSSE programs.
Other Requirements
Extensive offshore or drilling operations experience.Previous experience as an Assistant Driller preferred.
Strong understanding of drilling operations and well control principles.
Leadership and crew management capability.
Able to work rotational offshore schedules.
