Job Description

The incumbent shall be responsible for supporting and assuring safe, compliant, and effective underwater operations within the Subsea Engineering industry. The role requires extensive technical knowledge of subsea engineering activities, diving operations, relevant industry standards, and assurance processes, while maintaining compliance with applicable legislation and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support and provide technical expertise in underwater operations and Subsea Engineering activities, including Saturation Diving, Air Diving, and ROV operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IMCA and IOGP requirements relating to underwater operations and activities within the assigned scope.
- Demonstrate competency in diving supervisory functions and/or participation in IMCA audits to support operational assurance and compliance.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of underwater construction, inspection, maintenance techniques, and associated equipment.
- Ensure underwater operations are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation, industry guidance, and safety requirements, including:
IMCA Guidance Notes
IOGP Diving Recommended Practices
UK HSE Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and Information Sheets
IMO Regulations
- Participate in and support assurance processes, including audits and compliance with IMCA documents D023, D024, D040, and D053.
- Prepare, review, and maintain technical reports, audit documentation, charts, forms, presentations, and other operational records using standard word processing software.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with clients, project teams, auditors, and other stakeholders.

Other Requirements

- Proven experience in underwater operations and Subsea Engineering, including Saturation Diving, Air Diving, and ROV operations.
- Fully conversant with IMCA and IOGP requirements pertaining to underwater operations, as demonstrated through diving supervisory experience and/or participation in IMCA audits.
- Thorough knowledge of underwater construction, inspection, maintenance techniques, and associated equipment.
- Sound understanding of relevant legislation and guidance governing underwater operations and safety, including IMCA Guidance Notes, IOGP Diving Recommended Practices, UK HSE ACOP & Information Sheets, and IMO Regulations.
- Good understanding of assurance processes, including audits and IMCA documents D023, D024, D040, and D053.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Proficient in preparing professional reports, audit documents, charts, forms, presentations, and other documentation using word processing software.
