The Business Operations Administrator oversees day-to-day administrative, logistical, compliance, and regulatory operations for the restaurant and catering divisions. This role ensures smooth back-of-house workflow, inventory tracking, event coordination support, inter-departmental communication, and strict adherence to local food safety standards under the Brunei Darussalam Food Authority (BDFA) and national Halal compliance mandates under the Majlis Ugama Islam Brunei (MUIB) / Halal Food Control Division (BKMH).
Key Responsibilities:-
- Financial & Administrative Operations
- Process daily sales reports, invoices, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll inputs.
- Reconcile daily point-of-sale (POS) data against cash and digital transactions.
- Track operational budgets, monitor labor costs, and assist in monthly expense audits.
- Maintain organized digital and physical records for vendor contracts, staff credentials, and business licenses.
- Catering Logistics & Event Support
- Handle catering inquiries, generate client quotes, issue invoices, and manage booking deposits.
- Coordinate transport logistics, run-sheets, setup equipment, and staffing schedules for off-site catering events.
- Act as the primary liaison between catering clients, event managers, and the kitchen team.
- Inventory & Halal Supply Chain Management
- Monitor inventory levels for non-perishable supplies, packaging, food service items, and office consumables.
- Place orders only with MUIB-approved food distributors, beverage suppliers, and equipment rental vendors.
- Audit raw ingredient lists and verify incoming supplier deliveries against Halal permit requirements to prevent cross-contamination or non-halal ingredient usage.
- Compliance, BDFA & Halal Regulatory Administration
- Ensure strict operational adherence to statutory food health standards regulated by the Brunei Darussalam Food Authority (BDFA).
- Manage full compliance under the Halal Certificate and Halal Label Order as mandated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) and MUIB.
- Coordinate the mandatory requirement of maintaining at least two (2) certified Muslim Halal Supervisors per premises, including documentation and renewal submission.
- Facilitate official audits, site inspections, and documentation checks conducted by BDFA officers and BKMH Halal auditors.
- Maintain active records of all employee Basic Food Safety Course for Food Handlers Certificates and health clearance checks required by local health authorities.
