Job Description
- Intermediate-level scaffolding role supporting onshore and offshore oil & gas operations in Brunei
- Works under supervision of Advanced Scaffolders and Scaffold Supervisors, with increased responsibility compared to Level 1
- Responsible for carrying out basic and intermediate scaffolding erection, modification, and dismantling tasks
- Assists in interpreting simple scaffolding drawings and work instructions to assemble standard scaffold structures
- Ensures scaffolding components are properly selected, inspected, and safely installed
- Supports preparation of materials, tools, and equipment for scaffolding operations
- Assists in setting out scaffold bases, standards, ledgers, transoms, and working platforms
- Performs basic inspections of scaffolding structures under supervision before use
- Ensures safe working conditions by maintaining proper housekeeping and site safety practices
- Works on both onshore facilities (plants, yards, maintenance sites) and offshore platforms in oil & gas environments
- Participates in maintenance shutdowns/turnarounds and project-based scaffolding activities
- Follows strict HSE procedures, including working at height safety standards and permit-to-work systems
- Ensures proper use of PPE and adherence to safety regulations at all times
Other Requirements
- Minimum basic scaffolding training or Level 1 scaffolding certification (or equivalent)- Must be physically fit and able to perform manual work in demanding environments
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces under supervision
- Good discipline and strong safety awareness at all times
- Willingness to work in both onshore and offshore environments
- Ability to work rotational offshore shifts (e.g., 14/14 or 28/28) when required
- Must pass offshore medical fitness examination (for offshore deployment)
- Required offshore safety certifications such as BOSIET/FOET (for offshore roles)
- Ability to adapt to harsh weather conditions and industrial site environments
- No fear of heights and comfortable working in high-risk areas under strict supervision
- Team-oriented mindset with willingness to learn and follow instructions strictly
- Basic literacy for understanding safety instructions, permits, and site documentation
- Commitment to comply with company HSE policies and procedures at all times
