- Perform welding activities in 6G and 6GR positions on piping, structural and fabrication works.
- Carry out welding using applicable processes such as GTAW/TIG, SMAW and/or FCAW, depending on the approved WPS.
- Weld carbon steel, stainless steel and other approved materials as required by the project.
- Perform welding on process piping, pipe fittings, structural members and TKY connections.
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, welding symbols and WPS/PQR documentation.
- Carry out fit-up, alignment, tack welding, preheating and welding of joints as required.
- Select and correctly handle welding electrodes, filler materials and consumables.
- Ensure welding parameters and techniques comply with approved WPS and project specifications.
- Conduct visual inspection of completed welds and rectify defects where required.
- Work in accordance with applicable standards such as ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104 and/or project-specific specifications.
- Prepare welding equipment, leads, electrodes, tools and consumables before commencing work.
- Carry out grinding, cutting and other associated fabrication activities when required.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Cooperate with Welding Inspectors, QC personnel, Fitters and other trades to ensure work meets quality requirements.
- Support NDT/inspection activities, including RT, UT, MPI or DPI where applicable.
- Follow Permit to Work, JSA, Risk Assessment and other site safety requirements.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the work area is safe and free from hazards.
- Report defective equipment, unsafe conditions and welding defects to the supervisor.
- Perform other welding and fabrication duties as assigned.
