JOB SUMMARY:-
The Technical Proposal Engineer supports sales productivity and deal flow by securing the “technical close” in complex solutions. This role collaborates with sales, service, R&D, and technical support resources to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs, and are appropriately supported by key customer technical decision-makers. Technical Proposal Engineer is responsible for achieving a profit and productivity quota.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:-
Answer to RFI/RFQ/RFP together with the Key Account Sales manager
Lead the end-to-end proposal development process, including research, content creation, and document formatting, ensuring that proposals are clear, persuasive, and tailored to each client's specific requirements.
Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers’ met and unmet needs, and recommends optimum solutions, ensuring appropriate support for the proposed architecture.
Shares with key account sales manager assigned targets for profitable sales growth in assigned product lines and/or market areas.
Collaborate with technical experts to understand project requirements, develop technical solutions, and translate complex technical information into easily understandable content for non-technical stakeholders.
Opportunistically pursues additional business development opportunities within customer firms, ensures these opportunities are effectively covered and followed by the sales team.
Monitors R&D/ customer support for technical solutions proposed throughout the sales process, and alerts the sales and account teams to potential risks of deal closure.
Prepare accurate cost estimates for proposed projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors, while maintaining competitiveness and profitability.
If required, acts as a Project Manager for each deal to ensure the final solution is delivered towards customer’s expectation and initial proposals.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses, helping to position our proposals strategically in the market.
Meet tight deadlines and handle multiple high-revenue proposal and design projects at one time.
Maintain a comprehensive database of proposal content, ensuring compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and client requirements.
Identify opportunities to enhance proposal processes, templates, and tools, and implement best practices to increase efficiency and success rates.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses, helping to position our proposals strategically in the market.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, with engineers, architects, and other professional personnel.
Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
REQUIREMENTS:-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
5-10 years of experience in the oil/gas & petrochemical industry
Excellent technical skills
Good communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good time management and organizational skills
Ability to conduct in-depth research
A team player as well as ability to work independently
