The dual role of Poultry Farm Manager and Veterinarian offers a dynamic opportunity to combine veterinary expertise with farm management skills. This position is responsible for ensuring the health and welfare of the poultry flock, supervising farm staff, ensuring optimal production, and maintaining biosecurity and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Farm Management:
Oversee all daily operations of the poultry farm, including biosecurity, flock management, feed and water systems, VIPER touch and housing maintenance.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize farm efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Manage staff, ensuring proper training and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Veterinary Care:
Conduct regular health checks on the poultry flock to identify and diagnose potential health issues.
Implement preventative healthcare measures, including vaccination programs.
Treat sick or injured birds using appropriate medications and procedures.
Perform necropsies to determine the cause of death in poultry.
Stay current on the latest advancements in avian medicine and best practices in poultry health.
Maintain accurate health records for all poultry batches.
Quality Control and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Brunei Darussalam regulations regarding animal welfare and food safety.
Implement and monitor quality control measures throughout the production process.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and prepare for inspections and audits.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of farm performance, including feed conversion and mortality rates, and inventory.
Prepare and present reports on farm performance, health status, and operational issues.
Use farm management software to track and analyze data for informed decision-making.
