Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Erecting and Dismantling Scaffolding:
Advanced scaffolders are responsible for building and taking down scaffolding according to project requirements and safety guidelines, including complex and specialized scaffolding structures.
Safety and Risk Assessment:
They must conduct thorough risk assessments for scaffolding operations, identifying and mitigating potential hazards, and ensuring all scaffolding components meet safety standards.
Supervision and Team Leadership:
Advanced scaffolders may be responsible for supervising a team of scaffolders, providing guidance and support, and ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols.
Inspection and Maintenance:
They inspect and maintain scaffolding equipment, ensuring all components are in good working order and meet safety standards before and after use.
Collaboration and Communication:
They collaborate with construction teams to plan and execute scaffolding setups that optimize workflow and safety, and communicate effectively with site managers and other stakeholders.
Following Regulations and Procedures:
Advanced scaffolders must follow all legal regulations and safety guidelines related to construction and scaffolding, and ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
Problem Solving:
They must be able to identify and solve problems related to scaffolding construction and safety, and adapt to changing project requirements.
Reading Blueprints and Sketches:
They must be able to interpret blueprints, sketches, and other technical drawings to understand project requirements and plan scaffolding setups.
Providing Support to other Trades:
They may provide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline team.
