Job Description

· An aquaculture farm manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a finfish floating sea based farm. Their primary duties may include:
· Managing daily operations: Is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the farm, which may include feeding the fish, breeding, harvesting, monitoring water quality, and maintaining equipment.
· Supervising staff: Hire, train, and supervise staff, including farm hands, technicians, and administrative personnel.
· Budgeting and financial management: The manager is responsible for creating and managing the farm's budget, monitoring expenses, and ensuring that financial goals are met.
· Marketing and sales: They may be responsible for selling the farm's products, creating marketing campaigns, and building relationships with customers.
· Maintaining SOP & regulatory compliance: They ensure that the farm complies with SOP, environmental regulations, animal welfare regulations, and other legal requirements.
· Research and development: The manager may work with scientists, researchers, or partners to develop new technologies and techniques to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the farm.

Other Requirements

• Degree in aquaculture, fisheries, marine biology, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is typically required, although some employers may prefer a master's degree.
• Practical experience working on an aquaculture farm or in a related industry.
• Obtaining additional training or certifications. There are many training programs and certifications available that are specific to aquaculture farming, such as the Aquaculture Certificate Program offered by the National Aquaculture Association.
• Management skills. As a farm manager, you will need to be able to manage employees, budgets, and schedules, so it's important to develop strong management skills
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in the aquaculture industry. Attend conferences, read industry publications, and network with other professionals to stay informed.
