Job Description

Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials around piping systems, tanks, ductwork, and valves

Select appropriate insulation types (e.g. fiberglass, foam, rubber, calcium silicate) based on the system’s needs

Install vapor barriers, metal jacketing, or other protective coverings over insulation

Use hand and power tools (e.g. knives, saws, shears) for cutting and shaping insulation

Seal joints and seams to ensure insulation integrity and weather protection

Remove and replace damaged or outdated insulation

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or work orders

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental codes, and industry standards

Work in confined spaces, elevated locations, or outdoors as required
